Wall’s Magnum

Wall’s Magnum

Following the divestment of its ice cream business from Unilever, Wall’s Magnum required a new standalone headquarters in Kuala Lumpur. The 4,542 sq ft footprint presented both spatial and financial constraints, with a defined CAPEX target and the expectation of maintaining the premium standards associated with its former global offices. The brief called for a workplace that could express Magnum’s distinctive brand identity while operating efficiently within a compact urban setting.

Rather than organising the office by conventional departmental silos, the layout translates the product’s brand architecture into distinct yet cohesive work neighbourhoods. Reception and café areas act as a central social anchor, while workstations and collaboration zones are differentiated through subtle material and colour variations inspired by Magnum’s core product lines. Flexible meeting rooms with operable partitions allow the boardroom to expand for town halls, ensuring maximum utility from limited square footage. The work café is positioned at the heart of the floorplate, supporting informal collaboration within a hybrid working model.

Material selection balances premium perception with cost discipline. Durable timber-vinyl flooring, locally sourced textiles, and bespoke joinery details achieve a refined finish without exceeding budget parameters. A sculptural entrance installation constructed from recycled ice cream sticks reinforces brand identity while introducing texture and sustainability. Integrated acoustic treatments, quiet zones, and maximised natural light ensure comfort within the open-plan environment. Delivered as a fully integrated design and build programme, the project establishes a distinct, brand-led workplace within a compact urban footprint.
